Worship
Worship has a special place in the life of the church as a way of
expressing love and adoration to God; it is one of the most important
parts of our meeting together as Christians.
At St Mary's, corporate worship through music and song is led in a
variety of styles, but we all share a common aim
of using our music to help the congregation to focus on God.
Choir
The choir, accompanied by the organ, sing at the traditional Parish
Communion service every Sunday at 9:30am, at Choral Evensong on the
first Sunday of each month at 6:30pm, and at some other services.
Worship Band
The worship band lead worship at the 11am service every Sunday, and at
some other services.
We are always looking for new members for the choir and worship band. If
you have a heart for worship, do get in touch.
Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings (the choir meet in church and the
worship band meet in St Mary's Room).
Worship Central
Worship Central is a school of worship, based at Holy Trinity Brompton
in London, to train and equip worship leaders, musicians and
worshippers. Members of St Mary's have attended a couple of Worship
Central conferences, and are planning to attend more in the future (more
information).
