Kids and Family

We love children and young families at St Mary’s and offer all sorts of activities: at church on Sundays, at groups throughout the week, and at special events through the year.

Children at St Mary’s learn about friendship with Jesus through songs, Bible stories, prayer, crafts, and games. 

Sundays

Sunday School happens on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month during the 9:30am service. Families come into church together and then children go to St. Mary’s Room for stories, crafts and games. Parents collect children there after the service and we all have biscuits, tea, and coffee together. All our volunteers are DBS checked and friendly well-known members of the church. 

In the church, a play area is available in the side chapel during services. Children can use the toys, books, craft supplies, and giant pillows there. Children are very welcome to move around in the church during the service, and we encourage joining in the songs with flags, sign language, and percussion instruments!

BabyZone

BabyZone is a friendly place to meet other parents and their new babies (under 1) for free tea, coffee and a chat. Drop in Tuesdays 1:30pm-3pm to St. Mary's Room. Once a month we organise special activities such as baby footprints on canvas, water play or messy play, and seasonal parties.

Toddler Church

Toddler Church is a short interactive service for toddlers, babies and their parents or carers. Children 0-5 are welcome with their grown-ups for stories, songs and snacks at 9:30am on Wednesdays during term time in St. Mary’s Church.
 

Messy Church 

The four churches in Billingshurst welcome all children and teens with their grown-ups to Messy Church for games, crafts, songs, stories and a meal together! Messy Church is held on the second Wednesday of each month (excluding August) from 3:45pm to 5:45pm at Billingshurst Community Centre on Roman Way. 
 

Youth Club

Secondary school-aged kids from St. Mary's and the community are invited to join Billingshurst Family Church's youth club Ignite which meets on Fridays 7:30-9pm at Billingshurst Community Centre. Every week we offer a variety of indoor sports, board games, crafts, nail art, and a tuck shop. Each term there are seasonal activities like a Bonfire party, Christmas film night, and camping in the summer. Pease follow this link for up-to-date information.
